In health care, protecting the public begins with the ability to respond to an emergency. Whether you are a nurse or midwife regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana or a care worker supporting clients at home, current CPR and first-aid skills are part of what the role expects. Here is what the Ghanaian framework requires, and how recognized, up-to-date, documented training meets it.

In Ghana, nurses and midwives are regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana (N&MC), which ties retention of the practising licence (PIN/AIN) to accumulated continuing professional development. Ghana operates a mandatory CPD-point system for licence renewal: registered nurses and midwives must accumulate CPD points each cycle — for example 20 points for RN/RM — logged through an accredited online CPD platform. Accredited resuscitation and BLS training can count toward these points via a recognized provider.

For support staff — care workers and home health aides — home-care agencies in Ghana require a stand-alone first-aid and CPR certificate in addition to caregiver training.
