Premiers Soins et RCP Ghana

Si vous travaillez dans le domaine de la petite enfance au Ghana — que ce soit en garderie, en prématernelle, en milieu familial ou en camp — la certification en secourisme et en RCR n’est pas optionnelle. C’est une exigence de permis, et pour cause : les enfants sont parmi les plus vulnérables à l’étouffement, aux réactions allergiques et aux blessures. Être préparé à intervenir peut tout changer.

Exigences en un coup d'oeil

Cadre reglementaireLes directives et normes pour les garderies (day-care centres) exigent une trousse de premiers soins clairement identifiée, hors de portée des enfants, dont chaque intervenant connaît l'emplacement, avec numéros d'urgence à l'intérieur. Le Factory, Offices and Shops Act (Act 328) de 1970, art. 28, impose un secouriste et une trousse dans tout établissement. Aucun ratio national de secouristes certifiés ni cycle de renouvellement n'est fixé pour les garderies.

Ce que le Ghana exige

Ghana's day-care centre guidelines require a clearly marked first-aid box kept out of children's reach, with emergency numbers inside and its location known to every worker, while the Factory, Offices and Shops Act of 1970 obliges every establishment to have a first aider and a first-aid kit. No national ratio of certified first aiders or renewal cycle is fixed for day-cares specifically. The clear expectation all the same is that the adults caring for children know how to respond when one is hurt or falls ill.

Epinephrine auto-injectors are not available on a national scale and depend on importation, and no rule requires a Ghanaian day-care to stock them. Prescribed and over-the-counter medicines may be given with parental consent, so the practical priority is a caregiver who can spot a severe allergic reaction early, call for emergency help, and give any authorised medication kept safely away from the children.
