Ghana requires workplace first aid under the Factories, Offices and Shops (First Aid) Regulations, 1970 (LI 655): every factory, office and shop must keep a readily accessible first-aid box in the charge of a person trained in first aid, with an additional box for every 150 persons employed. No syllabus, duration or delivery mode is prescribed by law, and online theory combined with a practical assessment is accepted.

Ghana's day-care centre guidelines require a clearly marked first-aid box kept out of children's reach whose location every worker must know, and the Factory, Offices and Shops Act (Act 328) 1970, s.28 mandates a first aider and first-aid kit in every establishment. No national certified-first-aider ratio or renewal cycle is fixed for day-cares.

Ghana has no dedicated Good Samaritan Act and no general duty to rescue a stranger; as a common-law jurisdiction the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) imposes duties only on those with charge of another (e.g., s.79). The Road Traffic Act, 2004 (Act 683) requires a driver involved in an accident to stop.

Ghana's Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) ties licence renewal to a mandatory CPD-point system — for example 20 points per cycle for RN/RM — logged through an accredited online CPD platform, and accredited resuscitation/BLS training can count toward these points. Care workers are separately expected to hold a stand-alone first-aid and CPR certificate.

Ghana has no single national residential-care statute setting a first-aid standard, so home-care agencies and employers generally require caregivers to hold first-aid and CPR training (CPR, bleeding control and basic emergency care). A recognized, up-to-date certificate is the usual way to meet this expectation and must be renewed periodically.

Foster care in Ghana is governed by the Children's (Amendment) Act, 2016 and the Foster Care Regulations, 2018 (L.I. 2361), with foster homes licensed by the Department of Social Welfare. First aid is not named as a stand-alone statute, but a current first-aid and CPR certificate from a recognized organization is commonly expected of licensed foster carers.

Online CPR and first-aid training is recognized in Ghana: the Act prescribes neither a syllabus nor a delivery mode, so online theory combined with a practical assessment is accepted for the person in charge of first aid. Certification is valid for 3 years.
