In Ghana, care for older and vulnerable adults is delivered largely through home-care agencies and private residential care homes. These settings — home-based care, private care homes and old-age homes — depend on caregiving staff able to respond to a medical emergency, trained in first aid and CPR.

急救要求
Home-care agencies in Ghana generally require their caregivers to hold first-aid and CPR training — CPR, bleeding control and basic emergency care — so that staff can act immediately for a resident in distress. This expectation is set by the care agency or employer rather than by a national residential-care regulation.
A recognized, up-to-date first-aid certificate is the usual way to meet this expectation; it is in addition to the caregiver's occupational training and must be renewed periodically.
